Make-up Must-Haves

Here are some of my make-up must-haves. Of course I have other eyeshadows, lipsticks, lipglosses etc for weekend wearing, but this is everything I wear on a daily basis. I’ve definitely fallen in love with all of these and not sure if I will ever try other brands. Maybe, but probably not.

1. MAC Sheertone Shimmer Blush in “Sunbasque”.
I’ve been convinced for years that blush was for “old people” and have used bronzer to get the tanned cheekbone look. As soon as I bought this (and learned how to put it on correctly) I was hooked. Bronzer just does not give you the defined cheekbone look that blush will and this is a good soft pink color to ease you in if you aren’t used to wearing any.

2. Maybelline Colossal Volum’ Express Mascara in “Glam Black”.
I can’t remember how or when I first discovered this product, but I haven’t tried another brand since. I absolutely love how long and full this makes my short and thin eyelashes. I usually put on one coat for everyday use, but for going out I tend to load a few more layers on for extra lushness. The best part about this mascara is that you can find it at Target, Wal-Mart or any drug store for about $6.

3. Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Swivel Stick.
I discovered this wonderful lip balm in high school on a church retreat. A saw a girl putting on what I thought looked like a “glue stick”, but come to find out it’s the most amazing lip balm ever. I can’t stand a lot of other lip balms (or chapsticks) because of the smell and taste. This lovely thing doesn’t have a smell or taste and makes your lips incredibly smooth. It also comes in a smaller size but I like the swivel stick better. It’s softer, I think. It has been hard to find at times, but I’m pretty sure that most Meijer’s and Targets now carry it.

4. MAC Bronzing Powder in “Refined Golden”.
I’ve also been using this product for years. I love the color of it, and I feel like it doesn’t make me look orangey at all like a lot of bronzers do. I try not to use too much though because a little can go a long way. Also, sometimes the color doesn’t show up right away when you put it on so take a few strokes and wait a few minutes to see the real results.

5. MAC Mineralize Loose Foundation with SPF 15.
I was using Studio Fix by MAC but when I ran out a friend of mine recommended that I give this one a shot. It’s one of their newer products but already I love it. It is a little messier than the Studio Fix that comes in a compact but I think that it covers much better.

6. LORAC Baked Matte Satin Eyeshadow in “Posh”.
This color is perfect for everyday use because it gives you color but it’s not too overwhelming. I’ve never been a huge fan of wearing eyeshadow, but this is one that I’ve grown to love and use almost everyday. For those of you that aren’t bold and don’t like crazy colors on your eyelids I definitely recommend this one.

7. MAC Fluidline Eye-liner Gel in “Blacktrack”.
I started using this eye-liner instead of a pencil or dry eye-liner about a year ago. It did take some getting used to because it has to be applied with a very thin brush. Creating the line on your eyelid is kind of hard, but making each eye symmetrical is even more challenging. After you get the hang of it you’ll grow to love this eye-liner. It stays the whole day and doesn’t fade much at all.

So those are all of my favorite cosmetic products that I put on every morning. I definitely recommend trying them out! You won’t regret it.
