It’s Friday, Green Friday!

I’m going to do a slightly different favorites post today (and maybe from now on, I’ve been struggling to come up with five Friday favorites every week). I’ll be posting about the favorite things that I’m looking forward to – all green inspired for St. Patty’s Day! As you probably already know one of my best friends from college, Stephanie, is in town visiting. Here are a few things we’ll be up to while she is here.

Steph and I are going shopping all day tomorrow and I cannot wait. I will be in search of a new t-shirt to wear on Saturday. Most likely like this one or similar.

Mexican and margaritas!
Since the weather is gorgeous for March in Chicago we are going to a restaurant called Big Star where they have an outdoor patio. We’ll be drinking green margaritas (lime, maybe?) and eating yummy chips, queso, guacamole and tacos!

Watching the Chicago River turn bright green!
Every St. Patty’s Day the Chicago River is dyed bright green to celebrate the holiday. This year St. Patty’s day is on a Saturday so I expect it to be extra crowed downtown, especially since the weather is going to be beautiful. I’ve never seen the river dyed in person so I’m really excited. My office overlooks the main intersection (Michigan Ave & Wacker) where it’s dyed so we will be watching it from there.

Celebrating St. Patty’s Day in Wrigleyville!
I’m not sure where exactly in Wrigleyville we will be celebrating, but I’m pretty sure it probably won’t matter. It’s going to be packed and so much fun. Just wait until you see all of our St. Patty’s day gear. We are going to be completely decked out. Here are just few of the things we’ll be wearing.
