I showed you the shower/toilet area makeover here, but now I can finally reveal the sink area that our guests will use. I am really loving how everything turned out. It’s definitely a much cleaner and inviting room for our guests to use.
But first, here is the before picture. Really nothing special and pretty outdated. I do have to admit though…this is actually the other side of the jack-and-jill bathroom. I forgot to take before pictures of the side we actually made over (imagine that). They looked identical though so you can still see how boring it was.
And now for the AFTER!
We painted the vanity a dark charcoal, but it almost has a navy blue tint to it too. We had the paint already from a previous project so that worked out perfect. The old knobs and hinges were also changed out with new (but inexpensive) brushed nickel knobs and hinges to match the existing faucet. We didn’t want to spend too much on updating the vanity because we plan on replacing it in a few years anyway. Oh, and ignore that carpet…that is definitely getting replaced in the near future (I hope, at least).
We added some rustic knob hooks so guests can hang up their towels.
Also, you might have noticed that we actually kept the same mirror. We just sanded it down and refinished it in a lighter stain (Minwax Weathered Oak – followed up by two coats of satin finish poly).
And the rest was just adding some fun new accessories. I just love that pink veined plant!
