Spring Dining Room & Entry

Evan brought home some pink tulips from the grocery store the other night, and it finally was the kick in the butt to get our dining room finished up for spring. That and I’m hosting a few people on Easter for brunch.

I finally finished the DIY napkins (tutorial coming tomorrow), and added a few details to the dresser/buffet. Overall I kept things really simple and easy to change out with the seasons. I love those little eggs I found in the Target dollar section (that section gets me every single time!).

The table runner is a World Market find. I love it because it will fit on the table even when I have the extension in. Most table runners I find are too short…but go figure I would find one at World Market which is where our table is from. Should’ve looked there all along.

Please ignore the super fast “hoppy easter” lettering I created on the chalkboard. I really need to work on my chalkboard lettering! I also found those candle holders at the Indie Arts & Vintage Marketplace this past weekend. They have a stone look/feel to them which I love.

And now for the entry way. I added a few Easter elements, but overall I can keep most things up all year round. But let’s face it…I know I’ll redecorate it again soon. It just happens. That little wooden bunny banner is another Target dollar section find. I’m really not sold on that mirror. We bought it for our Chicago apartment, and this is the best place I’ve found for it so far. It’s just not working for me though.

And now that I see the console table on camera I am 100% ready to refinish it. I’m thinking a duo-tone look – stained top with a white bottom or vice-versa. Or should I paint it a color? What do you think?

I love the plant that I found for this table – the leaves are big and round. Kind of reminds me of a mini fiddle fig.

And my little Easter egg wreath on the front door. I cannot wait to paint that door! The green has got to go, and I’m really not feeling the brass hardware. Both are on the summer to-do list. I would also love to add some windows in the door, but I need to find a door place that will do that for me. I don’t want to buy a whole new door.

That’s it for my simple spring dining room and entry. What do you think?  I’ll be back tomorrow to show you how I created the very easy spring napkins.
