Hi – I’m Shelby, and welcome to Sweetness in Starlight! I am a 27-year-old living in Chicago, IL with my wonderful boyfriend, Evan, and my 5-year-old puggle Crosby. We live in a brownstone building right in the heart of Wrigleyville.

A Little More About Me

I grew up about 30 minutes outside downtown Indianapolis, Indiana in a town called Carmel. I pretty much lived there my whole life until I moved away for college. I was pretty adamant on going out of state for college and that I did. I went 8 hours south to the best university ever – The University of Alabama. Roll Tide! Although I loved my experience in the South, I am a true mid-westerner at heart (or Yankee as my Southern friends say).

I moved back to Indiana to pursue a career in advertising after graduating in August of 2008. Since advertising isn’t huge in Indiana, I decided that it was time to make the move to Chicago. That was 3 years ago, and I couldn’t be happier. I can honestly say I love this city – well majority of the time. I’ll never like the cold.

I work for a publishing company called Meredith Corporation in digital media sales. They own a bunch of magazines – Better Homes & Gardens, Parents, Fitness, More, Everyday with Rachael Ray, etc. I love my job and work with some pretty fabulous people.

I started this blog as an outlet for sharing my life with family and friends. You will read about my interests, stories about my life, family, friends, decor, travel, food and recipes, and other things that I enjoy. My Blog Name

The name of my blog is also the name of my favorite song by Matt Wertz. It is the song that I will have my first dance to at my wedding (someday). The lyrics are very special to me for numerous reasons.
