Friday Is Here…Finally.

Linking up with Lauren at From My Grey Desk for High Five for Friday! Here are my 5 favorite things from the week.

1. Little miss Taylor Swift’s new single on repeat. Love this catchy song! Download it here.
2. My new black boots from Nordstrom for the Fall. I can’t believe I didn’t own a single pair of flat black boots before these. (via)
3. A new print for an empty frame. (via)
4. Laughing hysterically at this show and these people. I know it’s mean, but I really can’t believe people like that exist.
5. Work happy hour at one of the coolest rooftops in Chicago – III Forks. (via)

Happy Friday!!

Throwback Thursday

I know this is usually something that happens on Instagram on Thursdays, but I’ve been thinking about my favorite movies (from back in the day) lately. I wanted to share a lot more than I could on Instagram so I thought this would make the perfect post. Here are a few of my favorite movies and also my favorite quotes in them.

“Uh, as if!”
“I was surfing the crimson wave. I had to haul ass to the ladies.”
“Okay, so you’re probably going, ‘Is this like a Noxzema commercial or what?’ But seriously, I actually have a way normal life for a teenage girl.”
“I feel like such a heifer. I had two bowls of Special K, 3 pieces of turkey bacon, a handful of popcorn, 5 peanut butter M&M’s and like 3 pieces of licorice.”

I could go on all day long, and I can probably still quote the entire movie word-for-word. I need to watch this movie again soon!

Pretty Woman

“Slippery little suckers.”
“I’m gonna treat you so nice, you’re never gonna let me go.”
“Well, color me happy! There’s a sofa in here for two!”
Shop assistant: “Hello, can I help you?” Vivian: “I was in here yesterday, you wouldn’t wait on me. You people work on commission, right?” Shop assistant: “Yeah.” Vivian: “Big mistake. Big. Huge. I have to go shopping now.”

I used to watch this movie with my Nana when I was younger. I love it!! My favorite part is the picture above, and well, maybe the shopping scene.

10 Things I Hate About You

Bianca: “You see, there’s a difference between like and love. Like, I like my Sketchers, but I love my Prada backpack.” Chastity: “But I love my Skechers.” Bianca: “That’s because you don’t have a Prada backpack.” Chastity: “Ohhhh.”
Chastity: “I know you can be overwhelmed, and I know you can be underwhelmed, but can you ever just be whelmed?” Bianca: “I think you can in Europe.”
“I hate the way you talk to me, and the way you cut your hair. I hate the way you drive my car. I hate it when you stare. I hate your big dumb combat boots, and the way you read my mind. I hate you so much it makes me sick; it even makes me rhyme. I hate it, I hate the way you’re always right. I hate it when you lie. I hate it when you make me laugh, even worse when you make me cry. I hate it when you’re not around, and the fact that you didn’t call. But mostly I hate the way I don’t hate you. Not even close, not even a little bit, not even at all.”

Cruel Intentions

“How are things…down under?”

Honestly I couldn’t even find another quote that was appropriate enough to put on here. This movie was definitely rated R for a reason. But I still loved it.

What were your favorite movies growing up? Any other favorite quotes from the movies above? I have about a handful of others I can name right now, but these were definitely my favorites.

I’ve Got Olympic Fever

Linking up for Oh, How Pinteresting Wednesday. This week’s theme is Olympic Fever!! First up – my favorite male USA Olympians!

Of course, Ryan Lochte. His abs are all over Pinterest right now.

And then there’s Matt Grevers (the one that proposed to his girlfriend Annie Chandler at a past meet).

Cutie gymnast John Orozco. I just want to pinch his cheeks!

The one and only LBJ. Love him.

And last, but not least, Michael Phelps.

And now for my favorite female USA Olympians. Just warning you, there are lots! 🙂

First up – Lolo Jones. So excited for her to redeem herself in the hurdles this year. Can’t wait for all the track & field events to start on Friday. They are so fun to watch.

The young swimmer, Missy Franklin. So happy she has one gold already! Hopefully more to come too.

The entire gymnastics team – Jordyn Wieber, Gabby Douglas, Aly Raisman, Kyla Ross, and McKayla Maroney. One of my favorite Olympic sports. So fun to watch!!

The best part of the gymnastics so far has been watching Aly Raisman’s parents. They are hilarious. You can see a video of them here.

Next up is Misty May Treanor and Kerri Walsh Jennings. Fierce beach volleyballer players.

And favorite ladies ever  – the women’s national soccer team! I’ve played soccer my whole life so I grew up watching the women’s national team. I’m pretty sure all my soccer friends grew up idolizing Mia Hamm. But these ladies are the next generation of heroes to little girls around the world. Can’t wait to watch them win the gold!

Evan’s favorite (and the rest of the world’s favorite) is Alex Morgan, of course. Star forward and brunette beauty. I swear he would leave me for her if he had the opportunity. Ha. He loves her.

And my favorites – Abby Wambach. She is scary fierce. Nothing stops her.

And Lauren Cheney. Lauren actually went to a high school near mine and played for the Carmel United club program that I played for growing up. She was a year younger so I never got to play with her, but just proud that a fellow Carmel player is representing in the Olympics. Go Lauren!!

Good luck to all of the athletes competing! GO USA!! (and beat China, haha)

It’s Friday, with a capital F!

Oh, how I love Summer Fridays. Here is what I’ll be up to this weekend. Linking up with Lauren at From My Grey Desk for High Five for Friday!

1. Lounging around by the lake! I’ll be back in Indiana all weekend and staying at Evan’s mom’s house. She just so happens to live on a little peaceful lake, and I can’t wait to lay-out and relax.

2. Watching the Olympics! I don’t know about you, but I love the Olympics. Especially the women’s sports (ha, guess I’m biased) – soccer, gymnastics, swimming, track & field (short distances) and volleyball are my favorites. Also, how awful is that London logo? I think a 5-year-old could’ve come up with that clip-art looking logo. Go Team USA!!

3. Running in the Color Run – Indy! I’ve heard that this race is so much fun. Much more fun than my first 5k this summer. No bueno! I’m sure I will post pictures after the race on my Instagram so be sure to check out all the colored fun.

4. Finishing my book! I’m reading Best Friends Forever by Jennifer Weiner, and I can’t put it down. I can’t wait to see what happens so I’m sure I’ll finish it this weekend. I want to read Jennifer’s new book called The Next Best Thing.

5. Getting some fresh highlights! What girl doesn’t love some fresh blonde highlights for the Summer? Obviously that picture is not me (wish my hair looked half that awesome) but I love her haircut. The layers in the front at my favorite.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a fabulous weekend everyone!!
