I’m sure most of you (if I still have any followers left that is) noticed my lack of posting. Evan and I finally tied the knot on June 6th! It was such a fabulous day, and everything turned out so perfect. I can’t wait to share more details about our big day and the events leading up to it.
Also, now that the wedding is over we can focus on more home projects. Our next big project is the master bathroom – before pictures, design plan and more to come soon!
Here are a few sneak peeks from our wedding day – all c/o Jessika Feltz Photography. Seriously…lovedddd our photographers! Highly recommend them y’all.
I’ve been slowly transitioning our home into Spring mode over the last several weeks. Now that it’s officially Spring I feel like I can share a few glimpses into the updates I’ve made. I also added a few Easter items here and there as well.
I’m going to show you room by room – mostly because I’m not 100% finished with all of them right now. Like my Spring mantle…I have changed that up about 100 times already, and I’m still not happy with it! I’m too indecisive with everything. My fiance thinks I’m crazy (and I probably am).
First up is our family room – my favorite room in the whole house. It’s the room that “sold” me on buying this home in the first place. I love the giant windows and vaulted ceiling! I still don’t know whether or not I want to add curtains to the windows. They are just so pretty the way they are now that I don’t want to cover them up. We do have a house being built behind us so maybe once we have neighbors move in.
I put our brightly colored pillows back on the couch – pops of orange and aqua/teal. I think I want a few more lighter colored ones for the Spring/Summer though (shhh, don’t tell Evan). Those darker teal ones I really only like to use during the Fall months (yes, babe we need pillows for different seasons).
That sofa table is still a work in progress as well. I just cannot figure out how I want to style it. This will have to do for now. Please let me know if you have any suggestions! I didn’t even take a picture of it straight on because I’m embarrassed at how unfinished it looks. I know…I’m crazy. I do love that rustic lantern I recently found at Stein Mart (it’s this one).
I love this shelf we got from Crate & Barrel a few years ago. It’s close to the back door so we made sure to put the pups’ leashes, doggie bags, and treats stylishly hidden. The leashes/doggie bags are in the small round basket next to the shelf and the treats are in the french bulldog cookie jar (mentioned here).
More pops of aqua were added to the shelf. I painted the vase (it was a simple glass jar) on the top left with acrylic paint. Also, my new favorite source for prints is Design Love Fest. I just go to her desktop section and print away! They are large source files made for desktops so they can easily be printed. This is the one I printed for the white frame.
I love decorating with real greenery all over the house. They are up all year round (obviously), but I just love the color they bring to a room. I think I have a total of 12 or 13 plants scattered throughout the house, and so far they are all hanging in there. I did kill one small ivy plant – twice. So I won’t be buying any more of those. Anyone else addicted to real plants…or am I the only crazy person around here?
One of my favorite things on the shelf is a small bowl filled with tickets to memorable events. There are tickets to Alabama and Colts football games, concerts, soccer games, movies, the Blackhawks vs. Penguins game from last March (seen here), etc. – all things Evan and I have done together since we started dating. I love seeing the little reminder of all the fun times we’ve had over the past 5+ years!
And now for the other side of the room – the lovely white built-in shelves! I added more pops of aqua and orange, and a few rustic elements. Trying to go a little more FixerUpper-esque these days since we are obsessed with that show. Don’t you just love everything Joanna Gaines designs? I love everything she does.
And there you have it – our spring family room. Also, please let me know if you have any styling tips for that sofa table – I need major help. No matter what I put on there it just seems off. Where is styling queen Emily Henderson when you need her?
There are way too many sources to name in this post – so if you see something you like just let me know! I would love to see your spring decor as well – so please feel free to post a link so I can check it out.
We got our engagement pictures taken back in September, and I really liked how (most) of them turned out. I’m a
little lot critical of myself…like any girl, I guess. Although it is 100% my fault for choosing such a horribly unflattering second outfit. Even Evan agreed that it was a really bad choice. Let’s just say wedding workout has commenced!
I really loved the first location though – which was actually just a field on the side of the road. I wanted the flower field look so it actually turned out really well. These are all of my favorites from the shoot (although I left off my two ultimate favorites – one of those will be on our save-the-dates). And special thanks to Jessika Feltz Photography for all these amazing pictures!

Last week Evan and I flew down to St. Petersburg, Florida for a vacation and his cousin’s wedding. We stayed in one of the coolest hotels ever – the Vinoy. It was originally built in the 1920’s and most importantly it is pink. We had huge windows (mint green windows might I add) that overlooked the marina.
On our first night in Florida we walked to a park across the street that has a weekly movie in the park. It was so cute. There were vendor booths setup of food and lots of people came out to watch the movie and the band that played beforehand. The kettle corn was some of the best kettle corn I have ever had.
The wedding was also so much fun. I finally got to meet some more of Evan’s aunts, uncles and cousins. The band at the wedding was amazing too. They played everything from pop, r&b, country, and classic rock and really kept the party going all night. In the picture below you can see my “after” picture on my hair. I think it turned out great – loving the strawberry blonde ómbré. Although my hair was not happy with the Florida humidity all weekend. Frizz ball city.
And here is the rest of the weekend in pictures.
