Top 10 Favorite Wedding Gifts
Evan and I have been married for a little over 7 months now – crazy how fast time flies! Because of our very generous family and friends, we were gifted lots of great new items that we will use for years to come. I wanted to share a few of our favorites with you to give some of you some inspiration of what to give as a wedding gift or if you need some registry ideas yourself.
Hue Low Bowls – Crate & Barrel We make fish over noodles or quinoa all the time (at least once a week), and we love having these bowl/plates! It’s the perfect shape for pasta. I’m glad we added these in addition to small salad plates, and dinner sized plates.
Nattie Wine Glasses – Crate & Barrel Love the shape of these wine glasses. We have gotten lots of compliments on them too. Of course the champagne flutes are my fav!
Entertaining Plates – World Market These are the perfect entertaining plates! I’ve already used them numerous times this year (Thanksgiving, our Thanksmas party with friends, etc.). So glad I registered for these – loveeee them!
Copper Moscow Mule Mugs – Williams-Sonoma If you know me, you know how much I love my Moscow Mules. These are the perfect copper mugs. Super cute so they are always sitting out on the bar cart in the dining room. Still deciding if I should’ve monogramed mine.
Latte Mixing Bowls – Williams-Sonoma I use these mixing bowls all the time. They are heavy duty, but I don’t ever feel like I’m going to break them if I accidentally knock them on something (which I don’t feel I can say for all ceramic bowls). These are perfect for melting stuff in the microwave, and I love the pour spout.
CeraStone Ceramic Frying Pans – Crate & Barrel The non-stick pan we had before these doesn’t even compare to these guys. I was a little worried about staining the white, and after pretty heavy use already I’m happy to say they have stayed almost brand new.
Hydrocotton Bath Towels – Pottery Barn Towels are very important in this house, and somehow these fit all of our requirements. Fluffy – check. Soft – check. Absorbent – check. Fast dry-time – check. No mildewy smell – check. We love them so far but anxious to see how long they will hold up over time.
Mango Wood Scalloped Salad Bowl – World Market I put this on our registry kind of last minute, and I’m so so glad I did. The scallops make it fun and a little different than most salad bowls. It’s also pretty large so you can use it for larger gatherings or even smaller parties. And it’s very easy to clean!
Last but not least – two of our favorite gifts were things we didn’t register for, but were so thoughtful and unique I HAD to include them!
Custom Metal Quote Sign – Magnolia Market (similar) Evan and I both love Fixer Upper, I mean who doesn’t these days, but we have been obsessed ever since the beginning Season 1. Well, Evan’s step-brother and wife knew we loved Chip and Jojo, so they gifted us one of their famous custom metal signs. Ours says, “grow old along with me. the best is yet to be…”. We hung it on the wall in between the kitchen and family room – right where everyone can see it.
Custom Pearled Handled Tray – Mariposa Evan’s brother got us the sweetest gift. A unique silver tray with a quote, our names, and wedding date. While on the hunt for a hutch a few months ago, I knew I had to find one with glass uppers so that I could show this beauty off. I found one, and the beautiful tray fits perfectly right in front!
What were some of your favorite wedding gifts you received? I always love looking at friends’ registries to see what they’ve picked out!
Officially Mrs. Black
I’m sure most of you (if I still have any followers left that is) noticed my lack of posting. Evan and I finally tied the knot on June 6th! It was such a fabulous day, and everything turned out so perfect. I can’t wait to share more details about our big day and the events leading up to it.
Also, now that the wedding is over we can focus on more home projects. Our next big project is the master bathroom – before pictures, design plan and more to come soon!
Here are a few sneak peeks from our wedding day – all c/o Jessika Feltz Photography. Seriously…lovedddd our photographers! Highly recommend them y’all.
A Gorgeous Bridal Brunch
A few weeks ago a few of my girlfriends threw me the best bridal brunch/shower ever. They really went all out, and I loved every single thing. I never wanted it to end (mostly so I could eat all of the yummy food and drink too much champagne!). I cannot even thank these 3 lovely ladies enough for throwing me such a great shower. And Laura even gifted me all of the gorgeous decor too – I can’t wait to use it at the wedding! Here are some of my favorite details from the shower.
Bride-to-Be garland with pictures of Evan and I
Beautiful flower arrangements
Mimosa Bar!! (and the cutest pop, fizz, clink garland…in rose gold, of course)
The yummy food (mini donuts to feed my obsession, cupcakes, scones, quiche, breakfast casserole, apple strata, french toast sticks…)! And I am quite obsessed with that rose gold table runner. That will 100% be at the wedding and somewhere in my office post-wedding.
Yogurt parfait bar
The drink table – with anything you could possibly want!
Donut favors for everyone!
Did they do an amazing job or what? Thanks again Laura, Lindsey, and Kelilyn – love you!
Engagement Pictures
We got our engagement pictures taken back in September, and I really liked how (most) of them turned out. I’m a little lot critical of myself…like any girl, I guess. Although it is 100% my fault for choosing such a horribly unflattering second outfit. Even Evan agreed that it was a really bad choice. Let’s just say wedding workout has commenced!
I really loved the first location though – which was actually just a field on the side of the road. I wanted the flower field look so it actually turned out really well. These are all of my favorites from the shoot (although I left off my two ultimate favorites – one of those will be on our save-the-dates). And special thanks to Jessika Feltz Photography for all these amazing pictures!
