I am getting my hair done this weekend and you have no idea how excited I am. I’m going for a lighter, summery look – a strawberry blonde ómbre. My hair color is pretty similar now, but I really want to get rid of the “highlighted” ómbre look my previous hair stylist did (or whatever it was). I want the drastic look Lauren has going on with richer strawberry roots that fade to blonde. Here’s another picture of LC’s amazing hair. I’m trying out a new stylist again, and I really hope she is as great as I’ve heard. Fingers crossed. I also need to get a few inches (2 max) cut off. Haven’t cut my hair since November so the ends are just absolutely horrendous right now. Stay tuned for the after pictures!

My arms are still shaking from this at home workout. Seriously, those upper body circuits are a killer. However, pair it with a super cute Nike top and you’re golden. Cute workout clothes always make me work harder.

Is anyone addicted to Nashville as much as I am? Finally, finally, finally – Rayna and Deacon are together (well, kind of).

I should never be allowed in Ulta ever again. It just sucks me in and makes me buy everything. And those coupons. Ugh. I need to stop pretending those are free money.

How cute is this Kate Spade crossbody (the black/ivory)? I want. I need. I. must. have. it.

This is the last weekend we have to enjoy before our wedding season starts. We have a few big plans like celebrating Evan’s birthday a little early. Sake bombing here we come!

Little Friday Nothings

I am obsessed with tulip magnolia trees ever since Sydney posted pictures of them. Just look how gorgeous the flowers are – and there’s a whole tree of them! I must have one in my future lawn.

Last weekend I bought these jeans in my goal size! Working out and eating healthy seems to finally be paying off – woohoo. (I’m also going to pretend that these don’t run large and that I’m actually the size I bought.)

Absolutely loving my new iPhone 5. The camera is just so. much. better. I bought a really cheap bumper for the time being until I can decide what case I really want. I think I’m leaning towards this one. - it’s just so fun!

One of my best friends from high school is moving to Chicago today. I am so so so excited. She will be working about a block away from me. I see many lunch dates in our near future (and a smaller bank account since she is a stylist at Nordstrom).

I really need to make some StickyGram magnets asap. We have a short supply of magnets on our fridge and these are perfect.

I hope that Zach Braff reaches his goal. I loved Garden State and have no doubts that Wish I Was Here would be just as amazing. Donate here (if you loved Garden State).

A Little Guest Room Update

I bought this little table (was technically it was a cart, but I took off the wheels) from Goodwill in college for $7, and somehow I still have it. It’s pretty cheap looking (and definitely needed a make-over), but it works for now. I’ve painted it white, black and now yellow. Yellow is definitely my favorite. I learned the hard way that the test paint cans from Benjamin Moore do not have built-in primer like the other cans I always buy. Whoops! Five coats later and it still doesn’t look amazing. Oh well, this is just a temporary item until we have a house one day. Also, I completely forgot to white balance in a few of these photos but you get the idea.

Race for the Cure 2013

For the third year in a row Team MammerJammers participated in the Indianapolis Race for the Cure (year 1 here, year 2 here). The weather was horrible (again) and it seemed to scare quite a few of our team members from coming. Although it was freezing (in the 30s), we still had lots of fun. Can’t wait until next year! Oh, and next year I will be a much better team captain and order some custom t-shirts! Maybe I should start now…

Little Friday Nothings

I’m starting a new weekly series called little Friday nothings – basically my random thoughts from throughout the week.

I found my absolute favorite basic-T ever from Gap. I bought 3 colors and might go back for more. Can’t wait to dress up my white one like this.

My search for a new concealer continues. I currently use MAC Pro Longwear and just don’t love it anymore. I may try this one or this one, but I’m also taking recommendations.

I developed eczema (severe dry, sensitive skin) in college and had to switch all my skin products to hypo-allergenic. I use basically every Aveeno product there is. However, I also just found out the hard way I’m allergic to band aids. Um, what? Please tell me I’m not the only one in this world with weird skin issues.

I am obsessed with the new Nike Training Club in Lincoln Park. It’s a retail Nike store with a studio above it that offers free fitness classes. My favorite is the NTC class (basically a boot-camp class based off their iPhone app – major butt kicking). If you live in the Chicago area I would definitely check it out!

I finally decided on a pair of Warby Parker glasses. I bought these, but I kind of really like these too. Might have to buy a second pair soon.

To the Wonder opens in theaters today, but apparently you can rent it on iTunes for $7 instead of paying over $20 at the theater. Hello Friday night. I have a huge girl crush on Rachel McAdams.

Spring Flats

I’ve been searching for a few weeks now on a new pair of flats. Living in the city means that I need really comfy flat shoes since I commute (my total walk is at least a half mile) into work everyday, but they also need to look cute. I also want a pretty neutral pair that I can wear with pretty much anything. I’ve narrowed it down to 8, but I need help deciding! Which ones do you like the best?

March Happenings + Some Favorites

These months just seem to go by faster and faster. Good thing that winter is coming to an end (hopefully soon). Can’t wait for these busy, but super fun, warm months to come. Here’s what I’ve been up to lately!

I went to the Rihanna concert with some girlfriends. I just love her, and she is absolutely gorg. She had half her head shaved and still looked incredible. Only she could pull that off though. Although I am still upset she is back with Chris Brown…

One of my best friends, Allie, asked me to be her bridesmaid a few weekends ago. She will be a gorgeous bride, and I cannot wait to stand up next to her! Of course she had such a creative and cute way to ask us too. The “will you be my bridesmaid” was stamped on fabric and wrapped around a little wooden spool and tied up with lace and fabric flowers in the colors of her wedding. She also gave us an inspiration card with fabric swatches to help pick out our dresses. Her colors are yellows and lace (textures and patterns welcome too). I’ve been browsing a few on Pinterest lately, but this one and this one are tied for my favorite so far.

I also finally got to give her the engagement gift I got her her and John – this cocktail recipe book and these mr + mrs drink glasses. I am obsessed with the cocktail book though. I might have to buy myself one. I wanted to put it all in a cute basket with ingredients for one of the cocktails, but that doesn’t exactly travel easily back to NYC.

I finally was able to convince Evan to upgrade our bedding. This is huge step and it took a lot of convincing. He actually cares about stuff like that, and I had to show him numerous pictures to convince him. This picture finally won him over though, and we bought this duvet and these sheets. Now if I could only get him to agree on a new bed frame. No more bachelor-looking decor!! We are still waiting on the king sham, but you get the idea of what it looks like. Also, I totally understand our room may be a little too blue at this point. We’ll most likely paint our next bedroom a light gray (imagine that, huh?).

Danni did it!! She is the Biggest Loser, and she looks incredible. Overall weight loss of 121 lbs (46.9% of her previous body weight) – even after gaining 19+ lbs of pure muscle might I add. She went from a size 20 to a size 4. This girl is just simply amazing and has definitely been part of my inspiration to get my butt to the gym!
