Weekend Finds

I don’t know about you, but I have a serious love/hate relationship with Target. I always walk out spending way more than I anticipate. We only had a few items on our list, but I fell in love with so many things (like always). To make matters even worse the only thing we really needed was toilet paper – and guess what we forgot? Typical. I got so distracted with all of their home items that toilet paper was apparently the last thing on my mind. I did have a little self control this weekend, but I had to have this blanket in orange. It’s technically bedding, but I am using it as an over-sized throw instead. I stood there debating which color(s) to buy for probably 20 minutes. If they were smaller/cheaper I probably would’ve bought two, maybe even three.

Of course I couldn’t leave without buying myself one more thing. While walking to the cash register we passed by the book section. I immediately saw this book and had to have it.

First because it was bright pink, and second because it was Jillian Michaels. I have a huge obsession with her, and cannot wait to read this book! I have high hopes that it will change the way I eat, work-out, and live. I’ll let you know what I think after I finish.

Evan and I also took a trip to Home Depot yesterday for a couple things. I have been complaining for awhile now that our water is just completely killing my skin. I have eczema already so having really hard Chicago water was making it worse. We bought a filter for our shower that is supposed to help take out the chlorine and other harmful chemicals that have been drying out my skin. We also bought a new shower head because I’m pretty sure the one our landlords bought was the cheapest one at the store. After one shower I can happily say I can already tell a difference. Yay!

One thing I decided to pick-up while we were there was a new house plant. We bought some awhile back (mentioned here), and have managed to keep 2 of the 3 alive. Poor little flowers didn’t quite make it very long so I wanted to pick up a replacement. It’s a little $6 plant so hopefully I won’t kill it that fast.

Hope you all had a great weekend!

I ♥ Redecorating!

Last week’s Smell the Roses challenge was to redecorate something in your home. I love redecorating things in my apartment, although I’m not very good at it. Ask the boyfriend how many times I’ve moved things around on our mantle. Probably at least once a week. I just can’t seem to get it right.  Anyway, here are a few little additions that I added to the apartment this weekend.

I bought this little bowl to put on my nightstand to put my jewelry and glasses at night.

My new placemat from Target with some fresh flowers (oh, in our new vase that we bought in San Fran that I mentioned here). The salt + pepper shakers are actually little elephants kissing (held together with magnets). My friend Heather bought them for me for Christmas. I love them!

And last but not least, the mantle. I think I am almost done re-arranging things. I just need to get some tall fake flowers for the light teal vase. I also need to pick out a new picture or print for the white frames as those are just temporary.

Linking up with Jessica from Lovely Little Things for Smell the Roses Monday. Hop on over to join the fun!! 🙂
